"Yawn!" Sure you remember the old "Diode Strings"?

The well and truly Fcuked! Old diode strings above.

Not only have I changed the means of connecting the individual diodes together, for insulated screw connection joints (as the soldered ones got warm and finally "let go"! see the above photo, :o(( ) I have also up-rated the diodes and re-configured them too, as well as reducing the number (after extensive tests) to a similar design of a "brother Hydrogen experimenter".

Ten diodes as opposed to fifteen previously and the blue cable will probably be replaced for ones with screening?

As they are now (in the photo above) they are to be inserted into an insulated tube with a mini fan ventilating them. there will be a bank of four, one for each of the individial spark plugs. I will probably need to use Shielded cables, to the actual plugs in the final design, which I have waiting in the wings for just such a purpose (I aquired this very specialised cable, from a great Neon Sign manufacturer in Brighton) the four existing, individual, blue cables being replaced with this, will take the 2,000 Vdc discharge of the coil without allowing for any RF discharge.

The benefit of all the above effort is that it will not only reduce the overall size of the system, it will, in general, tidy it all up somewhat negating the need for the existing "Wall of smoked polycarbonate" at present, I do however, tend to use it as a simple "hide behind" blast shield, when operating the existing glass cell! but when I get the big one going? in the words of the Martha and the vandella`s song! there will be "No place to run, No place to hide"! it has to be right first time!!!! and it will be!

By the way my new cell case is still holding its one bar pressure, so Tuesday next I shall go for a two Bar hydraulic test. :o)) wish me luck (fingers crossed)
