The photo is of a Flash back arrestor (anti flash-back device) which I have manufactured of proprietory items from the Plumbing shop! with some help from the aquarium. It consists of a bronze tube with hose fittings on the end with the inside solid from end to end with "bubbler stones" as used to aerate water in a fish tank. They fit exactly in the tube and when cut down in length they can be made to fit exactly to length(given enough of them)I have sealed them so that no gas can go around the stones, and has to go through the fabric of them, where the tortuorous journey it has to take, back down its own destructive self, is too much and it extinguishes. sure it will flash back but only as far as the FBA (flash-back-arrestor)????? in the clear tube to the right (over the bucket) you can see what is best described as a "Clot" retained into the tube by a single "jubilee" clip, in that clot is contained three fifteen thou tubes 3/4 of an inch long these also assist with mopping up any straggling likelyhood of failure, by the process of quenching! Time will tell!
