Funerals :o((

As one does periodically I went to a siblings funeral a man aged 67 with a wife and daughter! there was an acomplished hired Chior a solo singer with a beautiful voice a great church and an internment in a nice green church field with a view!

Hmmmm! who was this all for? Sure I found out more about the person from the reading by those who "really" knew him, as I sat in the packed church on a lone chair placed in the middle of the Aisle at the very back of the church. Where as I sat warching the proceedings, I noticed the childrens seats by the font, which made me think of the kids that were to be indoctrinated through Sunday school etc, into the church Hmmmmmmmm!

Great music nice surrounding, lovely people, greiving for a really sad and great loss! Cost minimum £10k! Is it necessary? is it for the benefit of those left behind? is it to console some guilt at things un-said and done, during the persons life or simply to demonstrate (to whom) the depth of love they had for that person during their life? I don`t understand? am I wrong, wishing to be demolished at death and that no one should worry any further, about what has happened to me "for it is my belief that death is as much a part of life, as birth" isn`t it also true that any such funerary demonstrations etc are purely a selfish act on the part of those who spend time and money on them? could it be that it is felt that it is expected by tradition, (the churches) that an expensive departure should be supplied. Sure the bereaved should be allowed to grieve, but isn`t this an over statement brought about by this tradition and a possible wish to demonstrate the ability that even in death the Jonses are to be kept up with? Certainly the church and the hospice who jointly shared in the collection equally benefitted from his death. but the rest of us really benefitted from his life, and the simple act of just knowing him! (a nice kind unasuming family man)

What I do ask is Please don`t waste the time and money on me. love me in life and forgive and forget me in death! :o))

Well, love and forgive, but never forget. And thankfully, a good long time before we need to contemplate THAT!
