"Diode Disaster"

About ten minutes ago I ran my Plasma arc system a fresh after I smoked the small finely wound fan motor coil, I had in place of the previous, PWM run relay system.

The microwave transformer "MOT" which I now have installed to replace those, runs well (I have to take care re-the dangerous large current from the high voltage side along with the electro magnetic forces EMF )

I set about videoing the much improved performance of the plasma spark at the spark plugs when after a couple of minor fuse blows the diode strings dissapeared/overheated and the plasma stopped. When I switched the main lights on the individual diodes that prevent (or maybe not in this case) the plugs from inter connecting on the HV side, were spread all over the place, as Im sure you can see in the above photo , they are the small black thingies on the polished board,

Sure the MOT primary coil did the trick and the spark was improved about 10-fold but Ive now got to sort the diodes out :o(( what I did find on the video, when I looked at it frame by frame was that the plasma didn`t restrict itself to the individual plugs the whole area was encompassed in its Aura (myself included) on one of the frames. Doh! I don`t think I should be that close to it. No wonder I`m stoked ? perhaps I should have said smoked????? :o))

Saw Marcus this evening. He's been meaning to get back to you but he claimed the "busy" excuse. I think I flogged him sufficiently for you however, lol.

Wow Tana thanks for that I did enjoy chatting with him, he is so knowledgable on many electronic subjects and he really helped. I tend to use such conversations as stimulus to greater things whilst I might be talking about this subject I am actually thinking about some other one. Great to hear from you thanks again for prodding Marcus
