Don`t you just love it when you finally get something that you have always wanted, this was the case the other day when I saw an advert in a local "cheap jack store" for these "taper reamers" when ever I have seen them in the past they have always been more costly that I was prepared to justify paying, and even though "one should always buy quality tools" I bought them on the basis that I won`t probably ever use them now and if I do they won`t need to commit to the more normal hard work of my past. I also found some of those inserts that can be stuck into the anchor chain to show where you are (on the chain) scope wise, sure I have painted my chains in the past but it wears off in a couple of years, so I thought that I would buy these and see how they go. of course I don`t actually remember if I have a 3/8 chain ( which they are for) as I forgot to check, but at £1-50 who cares, not really the right attitude is it though :o((

I hate counting the anchor chain lengths! I'm always afraid I'm going to loose count. So what was it you bought to count the chain? are they numbers?
Hi "H" thanks for the visit I have posted just for you the details of the placciky bits they are really good and you can ger different colours so that you can use your own markings I used to use the colours of the rainbow at every 10 metres ie red at 10, orange at 20, yellow at 30, green at 40, blue at 50,indigo at 60,violet at 70, mind you thats a lot of chain and the most I ever marked out was 40 or 50? metres or 125/160 feet-ish
Going to pass your idea along to the Captain! :)
